The Radio Times back catalogue has a vast number of artworks that have been used over the years as front covers — they also make great poster prints!
This cover was designed for the Radio Times Christmas issue in 1926, just three years after the magazine was started! Inside was a story by Jerome K Jerome, who recalled the simple pleasures of a night out at the turn of the 20th century. Later, Denis Mackail prophesied that by 2026 the sky would be dark with aeroplanes queuing for runways, and homes would have so many bathrooms that families would live in them.
