The Radio Times back catalogue has a vast number of artworks that have been used over the years as front covers — they also make great poster prints!

This cover was designed to celebrate the historic attempt to reach the moon in 1969. "The wonder of the Apollo 11 mission is incredible enough," ran the Radio Times editorial, "but as well as being the threshold of the space age, this is also the television age. You at home will be able to follow the moon mission stage by stage, right up to the climax." Inside, James Burke introduced "the men, the mooncraft and the mission". On BBC1 - with perfect timing - the US sci-fi series, Star Trek, debuted in the Saturday teatime slot.
